Overview

A unique experience by mountain Railway through the Alps, beyond canyons, viaducts and tunnels discovering new treasures unknown by most of the visitors of the French Riviera.

We will stop in the most picturesque villages, very surprising hidden treasures, being astonished as well by the landscapes, as by medieval villages & baroque treasures of the Baroque Route, also called Salt Road for the Trading Route back in centuries.

The Valley of Roya is surrounded by Alps Mountains and is the main door of the very preserved National Park du Mercantour, well known for his several lakes, and his mysterious engraving stones on the Valley des Merveilles.

Beautiful little towns- not to be missed!

Our guide Aurelia was fabulous! We loved our day with her- a great mix of history and beautiful scenery! The little towns were so adorable and we wished we could have had more time to wander or hike. Loved this!
Sebastian is an amazing guide!

Our tour guide, Sebastian, was FANTASTIC. The day of our scheduled tour, there was an extremely rare situation (out of anyone's control) that canceled the trains we would need to take to get to our first stop - Tende. Sebastian frantically worked to find a solution - which was to take the tour the next day. He went ABOVE AND BEYOND to call people at the sites to make sure they would be open (or to try and plead our case to make a special exception to open) to make sure that we didn't miss out on the experience. Sebastian is incredibly knowledgeable about the region and it's history and his English is nearly perfect. I would take another tour with Sebastian in a heart beat. The towns of Tende and Saorse were charming and the people we met were very friendly and stopped for conversations and to answer questions we might have. There was a fair bit of walking so wear comfortable shoes and be well enough to be able to walk up and down hills on cobblestones and uneven paving. Unfortunately, since our tour was rescheduled to a Sunday, we weren't able to go inside the monestary at Saorse, but it didn't take away from the overall value of the trip. I wish there was a tour that went from the Tende museum about the local petroglyphs to actually go and see them. I would take that tour!!
One of the best tours I have ever taken

Very nice trip with a good guide! We saw lots of beautiful places! Tende was very pretty. Try going on a weekday or Saturday as of the town is closed on Sunday.
Very Unique Tour, Highly Recommend

One of our favorite things that we did while in Nice! Great way to see a different part of the Provence that would otherwise be difficult to visit. Highly recommend! Also shoutout to Sebastien for being an awesome guide! We will definitely consider another tour with this company next time we’re in Nice.

It was a great experience for me. Sebastien, our guide, is very knowledgeable. Visiting small/old villages is just amazing and fascinating. Great views and a lot of history. It requires quite a bit of walking/hiking, but I enjoyed it.
